Community Outreach Plan

Good Evening!

We want to thank everyone that was able to come out Thursday Night for our first

South Congaree Task Force Meeting! Eagles for a Cause can not pull this off without

your help and involvement. So, thank you!

From that meeting, we decided to focus on the families and how we can best help them move forward. In order to make this happen we felt it was best to go out into the community walking door to door asking how we can help and showing them that we care. Telling them We Care is the most important message we want to share.

Our future plan is to have a Community Outreach Fair/Work Center. We will invite Community groups such as SC housing, United Way, Homeless No More, Habitat for Humanity, Real Estate Groups, Credit Repair Advisors, local churches and many others that you can help us think of to include in the event. We would like to have this event ASAP and we are shooting for the end of November or 1st of December.

What we need from you:

  1. Suggestions for a location in town (needs to be large enough to handle multiple vendors)

  2. Suggestions on who we should include (HELP us come up with a list of contacts)

  3. Volunteer (send us an email saying you want to be included in future emails and possible volunteer)

  4. TO VOLUNTEER this Thursday, November 17th at 3:00 pm [in the front parking lot] at Congaree Elementary School. We will head out to the mobile home parks to distribute flyers. The purpose of distributing the flyers is so that EFAC can identify those who need help and what kind of help. In addition to organizing a housing fair to assist in relocation of families, this outreach helps us make sure we have the right people and organizations at this event.

Thank you,

Lauren, Kerry & Lorri

Tonight was one of many small steps in the right direction but it is in no way a victory!

Our community has so much work still left to do.

  1. We need to make sure the residences of South Congaree know we want them here and that they are welcomed!

  2. No one should ever have to live in conditions that some of our neighbors have been living in. The stories they shared of their current living conditions were ones I will never forget. Our town made the right steps to let other mobile home owners know taking advantage of our neighbors/friends is not accepted.

  3. Everyone needs to step up and find solutions and help anyone that wants help to find a proper home.

  4. Calling on all churches, civic groups and non-profits to get involved and form a task force to help those that need a proper home.

Any landlords have spaces available reach out to us!

So far, we have 2 people willing to help. Those in need, please reach out so we can try and connect you with the right people/organization!
